Medical Advisor
Dr. Michael Guirguis graduated from UCLA in 1999 with a B.S. in Psychobiology and from Harvard Medical School in 2003 and returned to Southern California where he completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2006. Before starting residency, he attended and graduated from the Orange County Sheriff’s Academy. He was sworn in as Reserve Sheriff Deputy in 2003 and joined the San Bernardino Sheriff Air Rescue team, where he has flown over 800 medical and rescue missions, and received the Sheriff's Medal of Valor, for the events that transpired in Big Bear in 2013 where two San Bernardino Sheriff officers where shot in the line of duty. He has worked with SWAT and the Sheriff Dive Team, provided medical support to many law enforcement-affiliated events, and has recently earned his private pilot license and transferred to SB Sheriff Aero Squadron in 2022.
Dr. Guirguis has extensive experience in Pre-Hospital Care, Tactical Medicine, Flight Medicine, and EMS. He spent 5 years as a team physician for the Ontario Reign hockey team (LA Kings Affiliate).
Dr. Guirguis continues to work clinically in Emergency Medicine and founded Raven Medical Support Group.
Dr. Guirguis was Medical Director for CONFIRE JPA (San Bernardino County EMS dispatch center) from 2010-2020 overseeing the successful implementation of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch program providing the ability of fire department responses to be tiered based on call type.
